The music:

Americana artists, Steve and Kristi Nebel, have lived in Alaska, traveled Western Canada, toured across the US, and spent the better part of a year in the UK. Their inspiring songs have aired on Radio Tacoma since 2019. Tacoma poet laureate Lucas Smiraldo says of the duo “You are both articulate and accomplished as voices of conscience and your discipline is evident. There is honesty and precision to your performance and this is what reaches people--to be elevated in a way that can't be written off to entertainment alone.” In 2025 their most recent CD project, Vignettes was #2 on the US National Roots Music Contemporary Folk top 50, and #1 on the Washington state Contemporary Folk top 50 chart.

Folksingers in Hell features the Tacoma duo of Heidi Fosner and David Fewster. David was awarded a Tacoma Arts Commission Individual Artist Program grant in 2003 for his book of poetry, Diary of a Homeless Alcoholic Suicidal Maniac and Other Picture Postcards. Heidi has performed her Tacoma-centric Americana from the Blue Ridge Mountains to Venice Beach, California and has appeared on KUOW’s The Beat, in The Laureate Listening Project funded by Tacoma Arts Commission, at the Walrus Productions E.P.I.C. Fest, and at Music on Main in Vancouver, BC.
Join us at the concert and help support KTAH!
