Computer Science from Scratch
Hi Subscribers,
Thanks for subscribing to my very low volume newsletter. I promised I would only email you about major announcements, and here we are. My new book Computer Science from Scratch: Building Interpreters, Art, Emulators, and ML in Python is now available from Amazon and No Starch Press.
You can visit computersciencefromscratch.com to learn more about the book including seeing examples of the seven awesome educational projects that the book walks you through. This is a book for intermediate or advanced Python programmers who want to understand more about the many layers of the software stack. No Starch came up with the tagline "You know how to write Python. Now master the computer science that makes it work."
It's broken up into four parts on interpreters, computational art, emulators, and very simple machine learning. Some of the coolest projects in the book are a BASIC interpreter, an NES emulator, and a program that makes abstract art from photographs. I think it's the most fun book I've ever written.
Anyway, please check it out and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
David Kopec
PS I recently moved to the Reading, Pennsylvania area to take a new job at Albright College. Just incase anyone on this list is connected to Albright, please reach out!
