Goodbye Singapore, Hello Japan!
Hello family and friends!
I am writing to you from Singapore where Liz and I wrapped up three weeks of OMF Intl. onboarding and training. We were in a crew of about 25 adults and 15 kids, all planning to take on various roles supporting God’s kingdom work in East Asia. The training, encouragement, and support from the staff and fellow cohort members has been a blessing to us and our children as we transition to the mission field.

A praise that we would like to share is that God made a way for us to obtain our Japanese visas in Singapore. Online it clearly states that residents of OH need to apply for their Japanese visas in MI, but we did not receive the required pre-visa documents until we were already here. We attempted to apply at the Embassy of Japan in Singapore anyways. After much questioning, listening to hushed arguments and debates in the back of the embassy office, and a return trip to the embassy with additional documents - they unhappily agreed to process our visas! All glory to God! Thank you so much for your prayers regarding this lengthy process.

All that said, we will depart for the city of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan on Sunday night (Sunday morning EST). We have received our schedule for the first few weeks and are looking forward to settling into our apartment.
Please pray for
Safe travel and that we would make our connecting flight on time
Joyful adjustment to living in Japan for us and for the kiddos
New friendships with our co-workers
We miss you all and think of you often. Please send us any prayer requests that you have so that we can more specifically pray for you.
With love in Christ,
Jake, Liz, Liam and Laurel
