Thanks for subscribing & being a part of my communication experiment.
I ordered a flip phone two days ago.
Secretly, I’ve been waiting for a reason to do it. TBH, no reason came up, I just felt like trying it and decided it was time.

It arrived today, I was excited to set it up.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro, already. It’s crazy-good. I’m definitely not getting rid of it, but I do want to see if I can use it less…
Thinking about that as I’m on hold talking to Verizon customer service (3HRS!!!) ABOUT ACTIVATING AND SETTING UP MY FLIP PHONE PLAN. I think I’ve talked to every department they have to get this sorted.
Hold music is pretty fresh, tho.

Why did I need to get this flip phone, anyway?
We don’t have a landline, only our personal mobile phones (the two adults in the house). I thought it would be nice to have a shared family number.
I think this will be a good phone to send with my kids when I want them to be able to reach me if they need to.
I’m cheap. The cost to have this flip phone is half the price of my smartphone, per month. If I can learn to live without a lot of the smartphone conveniences, maybe I can learn to live without a smartphone, again. Return to nature.
Everything finally got sorted with activating the phone, but the hassle sure was a flashback to earlier times… Keepin’ it real, Verizon!
I’m not giving up my iPhone, completely (not yet). I wish I could! For now, using it less is the best I can do, so I’ll just, do that until I figure out something better.
That’s all for now,
Your Friend,
Elizabeth
