#94 Best Album of 2000 Tournament: Week #8 Wrap-Up
Hey folks!
Week Eight is in the record books!
We had two upsets this week. First, on Thursday, Mirah’s YOU THINK IT’S LIKE THIS BUT REALLY IT’S LIKE THIS rather handily defeated Coldplay’s debut PARACHUTES by 18 votes. This voting body doesn’t seem to like U2 (never really has) and doesn’t seem to like U2’s kind-of successors. I am genuinely curious how A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD, Coldplay’s biggest album, will do, but we won’t know until the Best Album of 2002 tournament.
Then, on Friday, 111-seed SEGUNDO by Argentine artist Juana Molina squeaked past Air’s ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE FOR THE VIRGIN SUICIDES by 3 votes. I doubt this is the lowest seed to get to Round 2, but it’s pretty major nonetheless. Did anyone have this upset in their Prediction Bracket? If so, congratulations!
