#377 Best Album of 1989 Tournament: Week #23 Wrap-Up

Best Album Brackets Logo #2.jpg

Hey folks!

Five more gone!

Not a whole lot to say here — the albums expected to win, did, and did so without a lot of fuss. The closest match was STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON defeating FULL MOON FEVER, and that won by 39 votes, which in the Bluesky era, is nothing to sneeze at. Once next week is done, however, we’ll be left with the Top 8 albums battling it out. Let’s see how easy the wins are then.

THE BEST ALBUM OF 1989 PREDICTION BRACKET TOP 20

Last week, we had lots of movement and excitement. This week, bupkis. We have the same top 4 as last week: Lol Tolhurst is Johnny Ryall at #1 (its second week at the top), B-Sky Bouillabaisse at #2, No Movement In a Bad Bracket at #3, and Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Picks at #4. I’m guessing that last week was so full of gimmes that everyone got them all right, so everyone stayed pretty much in the same position. I say pretty much, because just about everything moved up one notch, and that’s because we only lost one bracket this week, We Are The Brackets Gone Wild!, which fell from #5 to #23. Once that bracket was gone, everyone scootched up.

And again, there were no real big movers. So instead I’ll highlight the three brackets that reached a new highest position. Going with the Obvious moved up to #17, Deep Dark Truthful Bracket is up to #9, and Nose Chain Nation slid into the #5 spot. Good job, everyone!

Finally, while we lost We Are The Brackets Gone Wild!, we gained Andy Karlson and his Large Bracket, entering the chart for the first time at #20. Welcome!
