#337 Best Album of 1989 Tournament: Week #17 Wrap-Up

Best Album Brackets Logo #2.jpg

Hey folks!

No mercy for you, Bob. Bonnie, you ran out of time. Business is closed, EPMD. This KITE has flown, Kirsty. BDP, you are O-U-T.

Absolutely everything went as expected this last week, with no surprises. The only thing of note is that the PAUL’S BOUTIQUE vs. OH MERCY match generated 198 total votes, the most of any this tournament so far. PAUL’S BOUTIQUE was also one vote away from tying BLEACH for the most winning votes in a match this tournament so far. Next week… I see potential for some upsets. Not saying it’s gonna happen, but I think some matches might be closer than you expect.

THE BEST ALBUM OF 1989 PREDICTION BRACKET TOP 20

Nothing too much happening on the Top 20 this week, either. CORNY stays at #1 for a third consecutive week, the most of any 1989 bracket so far. Breathe! Breathe! Breathe! Breathe, You Bracket! holds at #2, despite missing one of the matches last week, and up two spots to #3 is Lol Tolhurst is Johnny Ryall (a new high for it), tying with Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Picks. Biggest mover of the week is Drink Milk, jumping up to #11 from #17, which is amusing because it fell the most last week. That’s life on the Prediction Bracket chart sometimes. PRETTY much HATE tin MACHINE and Partyman's Revenge reached new highs, at #8 and #10 respectively. We also have two new debuts, B-Sky Bouillabaisse (the names you folks come up with!) and We Started the Fire, in at #18 and #19 respectively. The biggest dropper this week was actually three brackets: Deep Dark Truthful Bracket, That one Turtles sample that got De La in trouble, and i Doolittle Deep Listening all fall five notches, to #15, #20, and #20 respectively. We had two debuts, and we have two brackets that dropped off this week: style. class. love technique. and George Wendt Memorial Bracket, both at #20 last week. Hope to see you both again soon!
