#336 The Best Album of 1989, Round 2 Match #85: The Stone Roses vs. Boogie Down Productions

Best Album Brackets Logo #2.jpg

Hey folks!

First pic: This is a painting in a Jackson Pollock style, of splatters of white and black paint on a dark green background. On the left are three thick strips of paint, one red, one white, one blue. There are three circular slices of an orange or lemon on the canvas as well. THE STONE ROSES in gold lettering is in the center, and one of those slices forms the O of Roses. Second pic: A Black man in black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black baseball cap and sunglasses sits on a stoop. Standing above him is a cop, but we only see him from behind and from the back down. The Black man is gesturing with his left hand, the cop is pointing at him with his right. There is the suggestion that they are having a conversation, possibly lecturing each other? But the cop has a baton in his right hand, suggesting that only one of them has state violence on their side.
