#324 Best Album of 1989 Tournament: Week #15 Wrap-Up
Hey folks!

Things are getting wild over here at Best Album Brackets, or at least as wild as things can get. We had two upsets this week, as both #24 DON’T TELL A SOUL and #29 ORANGES AND LEMONS were felled by lower seeds (#41 and #36 respectively). The scuttlebutt I was getting around these albums was that support around them was soft, owing mostly (I think) to perceptions that these were not very good efforts from these artists and they only got their seeding due to name recognition. That said, both battles were hard-fought; ORANGES AND LEMONS only lost by 5 and DON’T TELL A SOUL only by two. (This is a good time to remind everyone of the Best Album Brackets policy regarding ties — ties go to the higher seed, so two more votes and DON’T TELL A SOUL would be one of the Best Albums of 1989.)
Below are the usual columns, The Best Album of 1989 Prediction Bracket Top 20, Last Week’s Results, and Next Week’s Matches. Tomorrow, look for a special edition of the newsletter. This week, I asked people to DM me one 2001 album they love and think is obscure. I’m going to feature every one that I can find links for. (That should be all of them, but we’ll see.) I hope you sample these albums; you just may find a new favorite you want to champion for the upcoming Best Album of 2001!
