#306 Best Album of 1989 Tournament: Week #12 Wrap-Up
Hey folks!

No surprises this week, as all the top seeds defeated the lower seeds. The closest things we had to surprises were the DIFFERENT TRAINS/ELECTRIC COUNTERPOINT and THE SEEDS OF LOVE wins. DIFFERENT TRAINS is, I believe, the highest seeded album ever in the Best Album tournaments in a non-pop based/non-rock based/non-soundtrack music genre, which in this case I guess would be called experimental composition. (I don’t think we’ve had a jazz or country album seeded that high, but don’t quote me on that.) I thought maybe it was overseeded, but it triumphed rather easily over FREE, by 44 votes, so, nope, y’all regard it quite highly. (You should; it’s good!) The other semi-surprise was just how close THE SEEDS OF LOVE came to being defeated. Now, twelve votes isn’t that close, but this was a 30ish seed versus a 90ish seed; it should’ve been a steeper victory. (If you’ll recall, I noted last week how three 30ish seeds lost this round, and a fourth was tied, and told THE SEEDS OF LOVE to watch its back. To its credit, it did.)
