#259 The Best Album of 1989, Round 1 Match #21: Janet Jackson vs. King’s X

Best Album Brackets Logo #2.jpg

Hey folks!

First pic: A black and white photo of Janet Jackson, a beautiful young Black woman, from the shoulders up. She wears a black cap, and a jacket with a military-style collar. The hat and the collar both have a metal plate that read 1814. She wears an a hoop earring with a key attached. She stares off to the right. Second pic: A black spacefield of stars, but a kind of portal has been punched through it. The edges of the portal suggest wood. Through the portal, we can see three big trees, suggesting a forest. An owl stands on the ground. Beyond the trees is a path that goes through a grassy field towards a desert even further back. On the horizon and in the sky are three moons. The grassy landscape is dotted with groupings of stone monoliths that suggest, or actually could be, tall buildings. I've driven through Nebraska, it doesn't look like this.
