#258 Best Album of 1989 Tournament: Week #4 Wrap-Up

We had one upset this week, as Soul II Soul’s CLUB CLASSICS VOL. ONE defeated The Blue Nile’s HATS, by 11 votes. As the seeds involved were #61 and #68, that’s not anything too shocking. What would have been shocking is if #100 Pizzicato Five’s BY HER MAJESTY’S REQUEST had defeated #29 XTC’s ORANGES AND LEMONS. It didn’t happen, but ORANGES AND LEMONS only won by 3 votes, which doesn’t bode well for its next match against #36 The Cult, SONIC TEMPLE.
