SUPERMODIFED defeated Pearl Jam’s BINAURAL, 61-41. That’s 102 voters in the first non-Twitter Best Album Brackets match! I hope to see that number go up, but for the inaugural match, I’ll take it. SUPERMODIFIED advances in the tournament, and will be next seen up against Papa Roach, INFEST.

KENT’S KORNER
Yeah, not sure I can do this “Kent’s Korner” thing every time. It requires having an opinion on every album, and having an opinion on everything is, ime, exhausting. (This is one reason why I never pursued the critic game too strenuously.) But anyway, BELIEVO! keeps trying different things with each track, not always successfully but always keeping me on my toes. THE DISTILLERS is the same song over 40m, but it’s a good song. Novelty or consistency?
