#187 Best Album of 2000 Tournament: Week #25 Wrap-Up

Round 4 has begun, and it’s already almost over. Seriously, after this coming week, there’s only one more Round 4 match, and then we’re onto Round 5. Hope you’re ready for that.
This last week, two matches took over the top two slots for most total votes in a match in the 2000 tournament. The OutKast/Grandaddy match generated 152 votes, and the White Stripes/Avalanches match pulled in 144 votes. Both of those bested the previous record holder, the Radiohead/Jayhawks match, which had 139 votes. I’ve also noticed that this week, we’re hitting 100 total votes within around 3-4 hours of a match starting, which is incredible. It seems like everyone is now on the same page. Let’s keep that enthusiasm going in these last few weeks!
Finally, we had two upsets! #19 DELTRON 3030 defeated #14 FURNACE ROOM LULLABY by a single vote, and #9 SINCE I LEFT YOU bested #8 DE STIJL by (gulp) 28 votes. Will we see more next week?
THE BEST ALBUM OF 2000 PREDICTION BRACKET TOP 20 COUNTDOWN
We’re closing in on the end of the tournament and the end of the Top 20 Prediction Bracket, and once again, the top three remains the same for another week. But aside from that, we have a number of small moves, resulting in a lot of brackets reaching new peak positions (which you can see in blue). Biggest mover this week is Rated R you serious?, up 4 notches to get into the top ten for the first time at #8. We have two brackets falling nine places, I Made Our Wedding Band Learn "Our Way to Fall” (from #7 to #16) and former number 1 bracket (for seven weeks!) And He Also Made False Predictions, dropping from #6 to #15. We have three debuts, two of which are re-debuts. The genuinely new bracket is PRDCTR, arriving at #13. We also have Your Grandchild is a Bracket, Not a Pay Check, returning at #20. Finally, entering in at #11, last seen in Week #4, is 100 Broken Brackets. Welcome back all three! But whenever the Top 20 opens a window, it closes a door. We say goodbye — for now? — to The Discovery of a World Outside The Polls (last week #19), Drink Milk (last week #16) and My Bracket is More Sad and Painful Than Yours (last week #16).
