Hey folks!
In case you haven’t read the last couple newsletters, here’s the 411: this Monday, May 27th, we will begin a run-off tournament for one of the last remaining slots in the upcoming Best Album of 2000 tournament, AND I can now reveal the seeding for said tournament. In addition, there will be another contest to determine the final album in the tournament — see below.
Here are the seeds as presented in bracket form:

Wednesday, June 5th | The For Carnation vs Phoenix |
Thursday, June 6th | Papa Roach vs Pearl Jam OR Amon Tobin |
A reminder: when this run-off tournament starts, you will get an newsletter from me every day, to announce the latest match and reveal the winner of the previous match. I don’t want to clog up your inbox, but right now this is the only way to do this.
This run-off tournament will add one album to the Best Album of 2000 tournament, leaving two slots left. One of those is an Editor’s Choice, which I will reveal on Monday, June 3rd. The final slot… will go to the winner of the Run-Off Tournament Prediction Bracket Winner!
That’s right, we’re doing this again. Please, take five minutes out of your day and click the link below to fill out a prediction bracket. Between the random seeds, the new, probably lower voter count, and the Prediction Bracket scoring being exponential (1 point for Round 1, 2 points for Round 2, 4 points for Round 3, etc.), this should be a chaotic, kooky tournament. Anyone could take it. (As of this writing, there have been six prediction brackets submitted, and everyone picked a different winner.)
Again, the winner will get to pick an eligible 2000 album to add to the Best Album of 2000. Want to pick a losing album from this run-off tournament? Be my guest. Want to pick an obscure prog-metal opus that only a handful of people even know? Hey, it’s your pick. Want to be the person who adds the first-ever video game soundtrack to one of these tournaments? You could do it! Want to add the rightful winner, BUILDING NOTHING OUT OF SOMETHING? Hey bud that’s my job.
Here is the link to check out the bracket, and look for the green button to add your own prediction bracket to the contest:
