#143 Best Album of 2000 Tournament: Week #17 Wrap-Up
Hey you fooooolllkkkks
Another week is ovah! Most of the matches went the way they were expected to, with two exceptions. Jurassic 5’s QUALITY CONTROL bested Peaches’ THE TEACHES OF PEACHES, but that wasn’t too surprising, as they were pretty close in seeding (#37 vs. #28). But the big shocker was #52, Lambchop’s NIXON squeaking past #13, Belle & Sebastian’s FOLD YOUR HANDS CHILD, YOU WALK LIKE A PEASANT by a single vote. This makes NIXON one of the 32 best albums of 2000, according to you, the voters.
THE BEST ALBUM OF 2000 PREDICTION BRACKET TOP 20 COUNTDOWN
No excitement at the top of the chart this week, lots of excitement elsewhere. The top three (And He Also Made False Predictions, You have GOT to be Kid A-ing me! and You’re Pretty Good Looking (For a Bracket)) remain the same. However, leaping up 8 notches to number 4 is The Bewiderbracket in its second week on the chart. That’s not even the biggest mover this week; that title is shared by Good Fortune (upt to #7) and Millennial Labor (up to #9), both zooming up 9 notches. Let’s not forget The Discovery of a World Outside The Polls, up 6 this week to #5. Biggest drop is tied by two brackets, Crying at the Idioteque and Kid B(eeson), both falling 5. Debuts! We got ‘em! Say hello and in some cases, hello again, to O Twitter, Where Art Thou? (redebut at #18), Brians over Baghdad (#17), I’m Sorry Ms. Harvey, I Am Surreal (redebut at #15), What’ll We Do With The Bracket-O (#13), Like Water for Chocolate Starfish (#13), and The Color of Molasses (redebut at #12). This means we lost some brackets: say goodbye, for now, to Drink Milk (last week #20), Will This Be The One? Perhaps! (last week #19), Your Grandchild is a Bracket, Not a Pay Check (last week #16), show me your riffs (last week #7), and KID B (last week #6). Hope to see you again soon!
Somehow I just noticed that I didn’t include the chart last week??? What the hell, man. Here it is. Text in red are the brackets that fell off this week.
