#13 Here are the first 121 albums in the Best Album of 2000 tournament!
Hey folks!
This last Tuesday, March 26th, I revealed the first 121 albums entered into the upcoming Best Album of 2000 tournament on Bluesky. It took about 90m to get through them, and I think a fun time was had by all.
If you missed the announcement, or just wanted a really long web page with everything listed, here it is! These are listed in alphabetical order (solo artists by last name, (in)definite articles ignored, prepositions not), and all titles include links to Spotify (unless noted as YouTube links).
(Note: there will be no alt text for the pictures, which are just the album covers, in this issue of the newsletter.)

At the conclusion of the announcement, I conducted the Guessing Game, wherein everyone gets one chance to guess the top nomination vote getters, in order from 1st to 3rd. The correct answer was as follows:
1st. Radiohead, KID A (68 votes)
2nd. OutKast, STANKONIA (55 votes)
3rd. PJ Harvey, STORIES FROM THE CITY, STORIES FROM THE SEA (53 votes)
The winning entry, which arrived within a few minutes, was from @yourbf.bsky.social. They may select any qualifying 2000 album to enter into the upcoming Best Album of 2000 tournament. (A shout out to @tomewing.bsky.social, who also had the correct entry, but was about 15 seconds too late.)
There are six more slots to fill to complete the Best Album of 2000 tournament roster, as well as the issue of figuring out where and how to do the actual tournament voting. Stay tuned to this newsletter and the official Bluesky account, The Best Album Brackets (@bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social), for further details.
Until next time, thanks!
