#100 Best Album of 2000 Tournament: Week #9 Wrap-Up
Hey folks!
We’ve closed the door on Week Nine!
Like last week, two upsets this week. First, #82 Dead Prez just barely defeated #47 Deftones, by two votes. Then, #71 Sunny Day Real Estate comparatively stomped on #58 The Microphones, winning the match by 16 votes. The Best Album voters, always keeping things interesting.
Also, yesterday, I attended Gamehole Con 11 in Madison, where I was a player in a game of Shadowdark, run by my favorite D&D/RPG YouTuber. It was good chaotic fun, especially since the scenario was what’s called a “gauntlet.” In most fantasy games, characters start at “level 1,” meaning they’re not real powerful, but moreso than, say, some farmer. In a gauntlet, you play a level 0 character, basically a farmer, who can be killed in one hit. Because of this, when your character inevitably dies, you pull a new one from the stack and keep going. Reader, I died five times yesterday. One of those times was when my second character returned to the hive of stingbats to recover the first guy’s stuff, and got killed. In fact the group never returned to that nest, so it had ten characters worth of equipment just sitting there. If you want to hear more, hit me up on Blusky!
