Make it smaller.

I'm halfway through the Writing For Video Games course I'm taking with the Irish Writers Centre. It's been fantastic, and I'm really excited about working on a game that I might actually share once it's finished.

I don't know if it's my natural disposition or if it's a side effect of writing novels, but I love to be convoluted. I'll take the most meandering route every time, much to my own frustration.

The course, however, is only four weeks, and if I want to make my first game in that time, then it's got to be simple. One idea. No sticking ten other thematically similar ideas together.
