I am terrible at crafting an online presence. I think this is mostly why:

Everything everywhere is so full of noise. If I had it my way, my creative writing would do all of the talking, and I would otherwise be a silent mystery. The JD Salinger type. A recluse, a hermit, whatever.

The truth is I can't afford that. People buy a book and the author sort of comes with the package. Or, people find the author and think, hey maybe I'll buy their book.

I am also like this. I read blogs and listen to podcast interviews and take note of tours. I enjoy hearing what authors have to say.

The point is, I am going to make an effort to blog weekly, rather than monthly. I'm going to try to find something useful or interesting to say more often. I'm going to fight that Bo Burnham voice in my head that tells me to shut up.
