Blog Post: Mētis
Hi Folks,
This week’s blog post is about a topic I first discovered while reading the book Seeing Like a State. It’s called “Mētis” and refers to the intelligence and expertise developed over time within a craft.
I like this word because it helps describe what that muscular intelligence we develop as software engineers, or in any other profession for that matter. This type of expertise can be difficult to verbalize at times, but always delivers results.
This post explores the phrase and a bit about how it relates to software engineering.
