The City heard us. Let’s keep it going!
We came together loud and clear for the Frances Anderson Center & Hummingbird Hill Park. Up next: a Budget Visioning Workshop on 4/16.

Friends and Neighbors,
Over the past week, we collectively accomplished something that hasn’t been witnessed in our city’s recent history: more than 6,900 letters and 2.5+ hours of public comment delivered to our city officials, all unified behind a common purpose – to protect our cultural and historic landmark, the Frances Anderson Center, our beloved Hummingbird Hill Park, and so much more that makes our city special.
Our elected representatives and City staff heard us loud and clear: the selling of these city assets is a short-term and deeply misguided patch that fails to truly solve our long-term financial needs as a growing city.
The only way to keep our Edmonds vibrant for generations to come is to pursue new, sustainable revenue sources to solve long-standing structural budget deficiencies.
Unfortunately for us, our city’s finances are in dire straits, and while Council was moved by our efforts, all options will remain on the table – including the sale of city-owned assets – until the budget crisis is resolved.
Our mission is clear: offer our elected officials clear direction on where we want other streams of revenue to come from, if not from our beloved parks and centers.
The hard work now begins. And we need your continued involvement.
Over the next few weeks, Keep Edmonds Vibrant will lead several community forums to hear from our residents as we try to answer the essential question: what does a vibrant Edmonds look like to YOU, both now and in the future? The community input gathered in these forums will shine light on the real cost of running a flourishing Edmonds, as well as real solutions for generating sustained revenue to match those costs.
Our first public forum will take place on Wednesday, April 16th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Edmonds Library. We hope to see you there! (This first session is limited to 50 people, due to venue capacity: RSVP below.)
