The Small Things

Shauna Niequist said it best.

"We’re addicted to big and sweeping and photo-ready—crossing oceans, changing it all, starting new things, dreams and visions and challenges, marathons and flights and ascending tall peaks.

But the rush to scramble up onto platforms, to cross oceans, to be heard and seen and known sometimes comes at a cost, and sometimes the most beautiful things we do are invisible, unsexy."

I think this is why I struggle with Instagram so much.

My life is so boring. At least, that's what it would look like from the outside looking in.

It is definitely not an insta-ready life.

  • I snuggle on the sofa with my boys and listen to their fears, achievements, hopes and dreams.

  • I work at my desk with my heated blanket, in my PJs (and love the work that I do).

  • I ride my spin bike and swing my kettlebells all in my front room.

  • I cook, clean, wash up.

  • I hoover. Lots.

  • I walk my dog the same route each day.

  • I drink the same things & eat the same things.

  • I don't go out often and would much prefer a game of Fortnite with my husband and boys.

My life is boring on camera.
And I love it.
It is small. Simple. Beautiful.
