Perimenopause Is NOT About Ageing

If you're in your late 30s / early 40s, you may have started to notice some changes in your periods and menstrual cycle symptoms.

Mood swings. Brain fog. Sleep disturbances. Fatigue. Hot flushes. Night sweats.

That feeling that things are, well, different.

Did you know that this could be the transition into Perimenopause?

I know.

WTF?

Young right?

But as Lara Briden says, perimenopause is NOT about ageing.

She says,

“perimenopause is happening alongside ageing but is not caused by ageing.”

Many people get perimenopause and menopause confused.

But Perimenopause is the time BEFORE menopause.

Menopause is when our periods have stopped completely for 12 months.

So, perimenopause is a sequence of hormonal events and changes that lead to menopause.

It’s a bit like puberty.

But in reverse.

This is why we need to track our cycle.

Because if we’re not, then it can be easy to miss the initially subtle changes that take place.

It also means that we won’t have any information to take to our GP or therapist (should we need to).

So, if you’re not tracking yet.

Please. Start now.

Do not underestimate how much of an impact this can have on understanding (and improving) your body, mind, mood and hormones.

And don't forget, I have free templates that you can download, including instructional PDFs and videos to help you get started.

You can download them here.
