On my desk - Keyboard Builders' Digest
Keyboard Builders' Digest // Issue #157½
Hey y'all,
Well, this is not the usual weekly issue. There were not enough projects and articles for a proper newsletter, so I'd postpone Issue #158 a bit. Instead of the usual snapshot of the keyboard scene, here is a quick summary of what's been going on around my desk.
- Read my Whitefox Eclipse review! I tested the high-pro case variant, which is a real beast, weighing 2.4kg. If you like it, there's a 10% auto-apply discount at checkout at the moment. (If you miss this, the KBDNEWS coupon code will still save you 5% later.)
- Bought a bulky Toshiba T3200 laptop from the '80s, with the mesmerizing orange plasma display and Alps SKFL switches with the metal lid. Sad details in the editorial. :(
- One of the two review units of the Synth Labs 060 landed on my desk. Probably the most beautiful keyboard I've ever seen. Review soon.
- It came from keebwerk, along with some classy artisans and stackable trays.
- There was quite a lot of traffic this week, MechKeys sent me an IROK ND75. It's a compact and portable Hall-effect board, mainly for gamers I guess. Review later.
- I write about my positive experiences with Qwertykey (Romania). Bought some cool deskmats for variety and was very impressed with the service.
- More low-pro keycaps from Tai-Hao. Received some more of the Choc variant after the initial batch of THT samples earlier.
- Created an Instagram profile for kbd.news. I hate it already, but feel free to be the first follower! ;)
For more details, read this week's unusual editorial here: On my desk (Issue 157½).
Comment on Twitter if this format makes any sense or I should simply skip newsletters when I don't have enough content. :D
New discounts
With four new vendors on board (RNDKBD, Apos, Space Cables, Pantheon) there are now 138 keyboard shops accepting the KBDNEWS coupon code and offering you various discounts. (I went on with the cleanup and removed some inactive coupons.)
Check out all the shops on the coupon page!
