Hi |FNAME|,

Here are some DIY keyboard related posts I thought were worth sharing this week: 1. Jonkey (https://kbd.news/Jonkey-1301.html) is an open-source split by SmashedTatoes, designed via ergogen. 2. Jonathan Dart’s Chortyl (https://kbd.news/The-Chortyl-1306.html) is an open-source scooped 34-key split. 3. An interesting insight into the early history of the Planck (https://kbd.news/The-Planck-debate-1302.html) , synonym for the 4x12 ortho. 4. The key micro RP (https://kbd.news/Key-Micro-RP-1305.html) offered by abitkeys is another RP2040-based controller with some extras. 5. Looking at Ben Vallack’s 16-key layout (https://kbd.news/16-key-layout-tour-1307.html) in detail. 6. Pockit (https://kbd.news/Pockit-1308.html) is a tiny modular PC system by Solder_Man with lots of good ideas for modular keyboards. 7. DanTheDane designed and open-sourced a tented case (https://kbd.news/Tented-Ferris-Sweep-case-1310.html) for the Ferris/Sweep. 8. This TypeMatrix (https://kbd.news/TypeMatrix-1303.html) may be the first keyboard using the term “ortholinear”. (Not the first ortho one ofc.) 9. A rugged computer (https://kbd.news/Russian-army-computer-1304.html) used by the Russian army – seized by their Ukrainian hosts. 10. A quick sneak peek into how the Mason60 (https://kbd.news/Mason60-Art-Series-1309.html) keyboard cases and wrist rests are made.

** Behind the Scenes

This week’s topics of my behind the scenes series:

Sorry, not really a proper BTS post this time. Rather a quick placeholder because there’s a national holiday here and I’m out in the mountaints with my family.

** Weekly keyboard art

A whale made from used keyboards. Posted by u/JohnnyKlatchian (source (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/tdeodi/thought_the_folks_on_here_might_appreciate_this_a/) ).
