Hi |FNAME|,

Thanks for your support. However, I’m saving up for a unicorn (https://kbd.news/donate) .

40s Day caught me off guard but here are the DIY keyboard related posts I thought were worth sharing this time: 1. This nice 3D-printed 36-key keyboard (https://kbd.news/An-SLA-3D-printed-36-key-board-1250.html) was BeniBice’s weekend project – resin printed and welded. 2. Published back in 2019, narinari’s Xenon (https://kbd.news/Xenon-keyboard-1254.html) is an open-source 54-key split. Built by chewiedies. 3. Based on Pseudoku’s Hypo Warp, D-Warp (https://kbd.news/D-Warp-1255.html) is a 3D-printed split by Darrenph1 with a quite rare thumb key arrangement. 4. Another build with caps scavenged from a Triumph Adler Gabriele 9009 (https://kbd.news/Death-to-all-Triumph-Adlers-1251.html) , this time by orpheo_1452. 5. 3D printable magnetic levitation switch (https://kbd.news/MX-compatible-maglev-switch-1253.html) with the Hall effect sensor in a Cherry MX compatible housing. 6. The number of keyswitch break-in (https://kbd.news/Keyswitch-break-in-machines-1258.html) related posts in a single day reached my threshold of sensation. 7. This Keyboard layout STL generator (https://kbd.news/Keyboard-layout-STL-generator-1259.html) by anduril_tfotw generates 3D-printable STL files from a KLE layout. 8. Ballpoint typewriters (https://kbd.news/Ballpoint-typewriters-1257.html) were an evolutionary stage of electric typewriters from the ’80s that used small ball point pens to draw text and graphics. 9. KingD421 found this vintage Keltron (https://kbd.news/Keltron-keyboard-1249.html) , part of a fire alarm system. 10. Wyvyrn reflects on keyboards in movies 2001: A Space Odyssey (https://kbd.news/2001-vs-2010-A-Story-in-Keyboards-1252.html) and its sequel, 2010: The Year We Make Contact — beware, this one is longer than usual and is quite picture-heavy. 11. Finally, Dygma (https://kbd.news/Dygma-OLKB-1256.html) announced a new columnarly staggered split keyboard model.

Thanks for reading. This newsletter is free, but compiling it takes a lot of my time. You can help it keep going: forward it to a friend who’d like it, or consider supporting it (https://kbd.news/donate) .
