Hi |FNAME|,
Thanks to everyone who bought me some time (https://kbd.news/donate) last week to do my weird stuff. Here is the result, a medley of DIY keyboard related posts I thought were worth sharing: 1. The Cantaloupe V2.0 (https://kbd.news/Cantaloupe-V2.0-1213.html) is a reversible open-source ergo split keyboard by BucketInABucket with on-board ARM processor. 2. The Jianovka (https://kbd.news/Jianovka-1210.html) is a contemporary split built with scavenged Hall-effect switches and caps from a vintage keyboard. 3. Tenstaana’s Chunky V2 (https://kbd.news/Chunky-V2-1219.html) â now with trackpad. Less janky and more janky at the same time. 4. The Noisy Cricket (https://kbd.news/Noisy-Cricket-keyboard-1218.html) by Pop-X- was heavily inspired by the Kyria and Ferris. 5. Designer Stephen Cheng from MoErgo describes the ergonomics of Glove80 (https://kbd.news/The-ergonomic-design-of-Glove80-1211.html) and explains the rationale behind the design. 6. A resin printed case (https://kbd.news/Atoll-case-1220.html) designed by wthrll for his 40% Atoll PCB. 7. Riskable published his magnetic switches (https://kbd.news/Void-switch-OpenSCAD-files-1209.html) ‘ OpenSCAD and KiCAD footprint files. 9. How to make gradient dyed (https://kbd.news/Gradient-dyed-cable-guide-1216.html) mechanical keyboard cables? Tips, tricks and experiences shared by htig. 10. SouthPawEngineer’s Onehand (https://kbd.news/Onehand-a-one-handed-keyboard-1214.html) is a creatively named accessible keyboard with five-way switches. 11. Weekly necrobump: this Raytheon 226274 (https://kbd.news/Raytheon-226274-1215.html) from 1969(?) came with KB-SR1 switches made of glass! Check the close-ups. 12. Dorner Electronic’s PDS 320 (https://kbd.news/Dorner-PDS-320-1212.html) was a fancy hardware with an impressive keyboard layout. A must-see for keyboard enthusiasts who are also into large-scale concrete mixing. :D 13. Thrift store find: a Kinesis Evolution (https://kbd.news/Kinesis-Evolution-1217.html) chair-mount split ergo shared by GhotiGoat.

Custom Mechanical Keyboard Assembly based on the iconic Nike Air Force 1 outsole. Package includes full 65% layout switchplate, spacer and base. Halved pieces with assembly pins are also included to make printing on smaller printers easier. I have included 2 varieties of spacer for those who want a bit more room for wiring/Arduino inside the case. One is a straight piece and the other contains holes for you to replicate the stitching on an Air Force 1 outsole. Keyboard case is suitable for hand-wired mechanical boards, or can be used with some hot-swap PCB kits (I used the Zeeyoo 65% 68 Key kit). Photos of the printed keyboard include white pudding doubleshot keycaps.
