Check the new issue (https://kbd.news/issue/47/) with awesome projects, tips and ideas!
Hi |FNAME|,
Each month, I put about 100 hours into KBD.news and its sub-projects. This is only sustainable with your regular support. I desperately need more members (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dovenyi) .
And these are the posts I thought were worth sharing this week: 1. Horizon (https://kbd.news/Horizon-an-open-source-ortho-1022.html) by skarrmann, this low-profile PCB-encased keyboard, comes with a quite unusual protective bottom PCB-plate plus all the source files. 2. This Motorola MDT9100 (https://kbd.news/Motorola-MDT9100-conversion-1019.html) , converted by Trammell Hudson, comes with an informative blog post. 3. Bonsai C (https://kbd.news/Introducing-Bonsai-C-1013.html) is an open-source drop-in-replacement for Proton C by customMK. 4. A 44 key unsplit keyboard (https://kbd.news/Patrick-a-44-key-unsplit-1014.html) by ak66666, combining the Crocodox halves into one. 5. A 3D printed magnetic case (https://kbd.news/Crkbd-magnetic-case-1017.html) by taksi_kavausuki for Crkbd choc keyboards â with STL file. 6. A well-documented Model F (https://kbd.news/Model-F-restoration-1020.html) restoration by Epictronics. 7. A 60% cardboard keyboard (https://kbd.news/Laser-cut-cardboard-keyboard-1021.html) cut by laser with video and sound test. Committed by NotmeJR. 8. Found in a customer’s garage by 209Diamondhander, this might be a build based on Don Lancaster’s TV Typewriter (https://kbd.news/Don-Lancaster-s-TV-Typewriter-project-1016.html) plans. This is how open source looked like 50 years ago? 9. The MCM/70 (https://kbd.news/MCM-70-1018.html) is a cute Canadian microcomputer from 1973 with one-line gas plasma display, dual cassette drives and vintage vibe. Check how it is programmed. 10. The Glove80 (https://kbd.news/Glove80-1015.html) by MoErgo is the end result of hundreds of ergonomic A/B testing experiments. The mysterious ergo mentioned when posting the MCC keycap profile. 11. The cocot46 (https://kbd.news/Cocot46-1023.html) is a homebrew keyboard with an integrated trackball and rotary encoder. Watch Daihuku visiting Yusha Kobo and introducing his build being on display.
What do you think? Iâd like to hear your opinion over in the r/mk thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/q5v153/keyboard_builders_digest_issue_47/) .
