Oh no: the holidays

I'll be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I love the winter weather, even if Philadelphia is usually a disappointment in terms of snowfall. I love all the lights and decorations. I observe the solstice and Christmas, personally, and both are lovely celebrations. I definitely love the extended time off from my day job that working at a university provides me.

But there's a lot of emotion this time of year, whether it's due to the lack of sun, or the instinct to hibernate, or missing those who have left us, or the knowledge that another year is almost gone, or complicated feelings around family or the holidays. I get it, and I feel it all.

I try to keep things simple, focusing on rest and spending time with my kid (and this year, my dad (Hi, Dad!), enjoying being home and NOT working, eating good food and giving and receiving gifts. (Gift-giving is one of my favorite things!)

Wherever you are, city, suburb, or country, look up at the sky. You might hear the wind, or traffic, or your neighbors, or complete silence. Keep your eyes out, and through the tree trunks you might see a deer, usually hidden by leaves. Listen for an owl. Watch city-dwellers scurry around in the cold while you're tucked up warm inside your apartment.

There's good stuff in this world, and sometimes we just need a breath or two in which to look around, and remember.
Thanks to everyone who made release day for Too Much Man such a joy. As a new author I have no idea what release day is supposed to be like, but it was a good one!

Whether you have read the book, are thinking about reading the book, strong-armed a friend into reading a book, or whatever, THANK YOU!

If you have read it, and can find the energy to leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads, I would be very grateful. Reviews help authors so much! ❤️
Also! Did you know that you can give eBooks as gifts? If you're looking for a quick and inexpensive gift for someone this year—no wrapping or mailing required!—the gift of Too Much Man will keep on giving. 😂

Just go to Amazon and below the "Buy Now" button click "Buy for others," enter in the recipient's email address and write a gift message, and you're good to go! You can even specify a delivery date.
One last piece of news: Firebirds book #2, Too Hot to Touch, is available for preorder! Weren't you wondering what the deal is with Tyler Valentine? All will be revealed in July 2022... ❤️
All the best,
Katy
