Finally, some news!!

It's been a while! What a busy time the November/December/January period is. It feels like a million years and also just a few days since I last sent out a newsletter.

Not that I haven't been doing anything book/writing related. I have! I actually finished a first draft of something, and now that the HarperCollins strike is over (YAY UNIONS! YAY WORKERS! YAY BETTER WAGES AND WORKING CONDITIONS!! I can't tell you how in awe of all of the HC strikers I am. Seriously, just incredible.) I can finally say more about what that something is!
MOAR BOOKS! That's right, I'll be writing a couple of books for Harlequin's new as-yet-unnamed "sexy contemporary" line, due out in early 2024, working with the editor who brought you Too Much Man and Too Hot to Touch. John's the best, and I am SO excited to be working with them again!

A few things about the upcoming book:

✨ Another grumpy newly-retired athlete hero, I just can't quit them.
✨ A super-competent barn manager heroine who will get the job done NO MATTER WHAT.
✨ A quirky and fun cast of secondary characters.
✨ Found family.
✨ An unbothered stallion who really loves his snacks.
✨ SO MANY HORSES!
✨ Heat level: spicy!

That's right: horses. I've switched from one obsession (hockey) to another (horses). While I came to hockey fandom as an adult, I've been horse-obsessed for as long as I can remember. I started riding when I was nine, and have continued off and on ever since - although it's been a while since my last time up on horseback.

And if there was anything I loved as much as horses when I was a kid, it was books. Specifically, HORSE GIRL BOOKS.

If you know, you know.
I have loooooooong dreamed about writing my own horse girl books, only for adults and with romance and kissing and even sex! I have to admit I sort of can't believe they're letting me do this. I'm so excited. And there's so much more to come - stay tuned for updates, a cover reveal, and all that good stuff!

And while you're waiting for 2024, maybe check out my first two books, if you haven't already?
What I’ve been reading

When I haven't been writing, I've been reading! Here's a few highlights - there are so many good books around!! I definitely recommend ALL of these:

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
Hen Fever by Olivia Waite
Something Wild & Wonderful by Anita Kelly (out March 7)
Hotel of Secrets by Diana Biller (out March 28)
Diamond Ring by KD Casey (out April 11)
Thanks for reading! Here's my cat, Gus (short for Augustus), keeping watch out the back window. What a good guard cat!
All the best,
Katy
