August: It's a no from me

Okay, so, I know we're supposed to look forward to summer. The sun, the green trees and flowers, the... um, I don't even know what else. Guess what? The only good things about summer around these parts are 1) my garden grows like a freaking jungle, and 2) beach vacation.

Blackberries!!

In freaking jungle news, the blackberry bushes I planted some years ago decided to burst forth with more fruit than any one person can handle, many of which I shoved directly into my face right from the bush. Others I made into REALLY A LOT of jam. And some I baked in a cake for a beloved dayjob colleague who retired last month. Not too shabby.

Beach vacation

My favorite place in the whole world is Cape Cod. I've been going there every summer since I was a baby, and my own spawn has also spent summer vacations there since he was an infant. This year, due to an overabundance of leftover post-pandemic vacation time we're going TWICE. Once this past month with the dog (his first vacation away!) and this month we'll be going back up to stay with my dad.

I also watched literally every minute of the Olympic Dressage competition, because I'm like that. 😂

And I'll tell you a secret, which will no longer be a secret once I tell you... I have a half-finished work in progress book that takes place on the Cape. Will it ever see the light of day? Who knows!

Too Much Man update!

Anyway, today is August 7, which means ONLY FOUR MONTHS UNTIL 
Too Much Man comes out!! My debut book has a grumpy 40+ ex-hockey player, a bi coffee shop owner who honestly doesn't want a relationship with a man, and a no-strings-attached sex deal. 

The proofs are off to the publisher and I JUST finished writing a truly hot mess first draft of book #2 (ahem ahem).
