It’s Salmagundi Sunday, where I share the “best of the rest” — great links that didn’t make the cut for last week’s newsletter.

  • Infographics: the Periodic Table of Fictional Minerals covers literature, film, television, games and comics; What Do People Read on the Toilet is just what it sounds like.

  • Blank Walls Are Criminal…a crowdsourced, global graffiti gallery.

  • A Keith Jarrett documentary. One of the greatest jazz pianists ever.

  • I can’t explain why I kept scrolling and scrolling through Henry Hargreaves’ gallery of the best to-go coffee cups from cafes all over the world.

  • Letters between Frank O’Hara and his publisher, shared in honor of Lunch Poem’s 50th birthday.

  • The original poster thought these photos of Hitler practicing his hand movements and gestures were “hilarious.” I think they are scary.

  • Sean Mundy’s photos are compelling. I particularly like stark works like “Origins” and “Sigil”.

  • A font designed around various addictions. Some legit, some…not so much.

  • An (ahem) smart article about Cezanne’s still lifes and their “grasping for the infinite.”

  • There’s a new Morbid Anatomy Museum in Brooklyn. Pairs well with the Mütter Museum (and a nice Chianti).

  • Not shared enough in all the talk about Tim Howard is how he overcame Tourette’s to become a superstar.

  • Apparently, some Thai insurance companies specialize in 3-minute, tear-jerking videos. Here’s another one. The related videos sidebar on YouTube will lead to plenty more.

  • This “29 Celebrity Impressions, 1 Song” video is being shared everywhere. It is entertaining.

  • Also all over, but just in case, Louis Zamperini was amazing. Respect.

Back to business as usual tomorrow!
