Clarity and confirmation
2022 has been a year of changes I didn't choose but events forced me to take a step back and re-evaluate what I'm doing, how I'm doing things, and who I'm doing things for.
A lot of this was because I believe that being a business owner should not mean being chained to your work 24/7. This is not why we choose this path, right?
But the first couple years of full-time entrepreneurship can be tricky to balance when you're still heavily influenced by the habits you built during the time you worked for others.
I'm in my third year of operating my business full time and I feel like I'm finally finding a flow that works for me and feels really good.
I'll be honest with you - I have a lot going on personally right now. I've wanted to stay in touch, but life has thrown my family some challenges and I've let some things go so I could show up and be present for the people who need me most. That's not going to change anytime soon.
This is the essence of why the flexibility of working for yourself is so appealing: Even on the days when I beat myself up for not doing what I want to get done, I know I'm not going to lose my job over it.
As the boss, I can choose to prioritize the things that must* be done and not worry about the rest when I'm needed elsewhere.
How freeing is that!?
Despite the radio silence, I've been working on some fun new things and I can't wait to share them with you later this year.
I hope you have a wonderful end to your week.
