Big Talk January Newsletter: You're Invited...
Hi friends,
There’s a lot happening in the world. If you’re an empath like me, it’s tough to handle it all while still caring for yourself…and your family…and your community! These Big Talk questions have been grounding me lately, and I hope they help you too:
What’s an act of self-love you can give yourself? A walk outside, reading just for fun, making art, organizing your playlists, or treating yourself to a fresh-baked good all count! (This morning, I played the piano instead of doom-scrolling the news.)
Who do you love that you’ve been meaning to reach out to? Call, see, or text them when you get a chance—it’ll probably make their day. (Yesterday I texted my cousins, who I know are sheltering from a storm.)
What’s one simple act of kindness you can offer someone in your community? Buy a warm drink for a friend or coworker, cook for a neighbor, or help someone navigate their personal challenges. (Yesterday my husband and I helped a woman change a flat tire.)
What community event or class can you attend that will fill your cup? Consider whatever piques your interest! (I’m thinking about joining a hiking group or signing up for pottery or volleyball classes!)
And if you need a pick-me-up, watch this inspiring video of 97-year-old Ms. Dorothy reflecting on the loss of her Altadena home with so much grace:

Sending you all the warmth, hope, and motivation you need right now!
