coworkers i'd never met in person were in town and we got to have a lovely al fresco dinner at magic hour at the beginning of a three day weekend
smoking a joint on a street corner while waiting for a cab
e's karaoke birthday was the most fun time, too many great moments to list them all but together we sang "stereo" by pavement, "the good life" by weezer (which i dedicated to her birthday), "all the young dudes", world's greatest mashup "easy heaven" by the cure/the commodores, and, to close the night, "after hours" by the velvet underground
d singing "lost cause" + her glitter makeup look
the delight of angelfood cake with buttercream frosting when you are expecting something more fondant-heavy and less viscerally satisfying because of the sculptural quality of the cake (which is made to resemble a burger and fries)
digiorno's croissant crust frozen pizza, which we have bought a number of times now and is the most satisfying frozen pizza i have eaten to date.
the fake restaurant menus that chelsea peretti has been writing (
1,
2,
3,
4) (fred's is the most obvious but is also my favorite)
this great review by sarah, i want to read this book now
that i successfully cancelled a bunch of streaming subscriptions i wasn't really using earlier in the month, but that our paramount+ month was still active and so we watched a quiet place, part 2 last night, which was in no way revelatory but was an entertaining romp (and much preferable to have cillian murphy as the male lead instead of john krasinski)
