i'm thankful i have today and tomorrow off work.
i'm thankful i deep cleaned our bong because my parents are visiting
i'm thankful that while they played with miso on the couch after dinner, they expressed surprising regret that they hadn't let our childhood dogs get on the couch
i'm thankful that though the wood-fired pizza italian restaurant we were going to go to turned us away because we didn't have a reservation so instead we went to
the burger place inspired by (but imo improving on) the very specific regional variations from our family's hometown.
i'm thankful that they are staying at an airbnb a short walk away from our rather than at our house.
i'm thankful choire is posting a big tiktok compilation to his stories again
i'm thankful for the really dumb realization i came to (and how happy) which is that when i am taking pictures of the TV shows we are watching for my stories like an old person sending a tech support ticket for a long time i stupidly took them in portrait mode and then had to like awkwardly zoom and crop to just show the screen rather than the entertainment center and the wall above the TV and then the other day i realized i could just turn the phone and take it in landscape (it even auto-rotates it for me so i don't have to edit) and i felt like such an idiot to have not come to this realization before but on balance still happy to take less shitty screenshots
(i'm thankful to know that i could potentially rig up a remote button to
a computer plugged up to the apple tv to accomplish a higher-fi version of this, but also i'm thankful to not have to take the effort to do that).
i'm thankful i cleared out my icloud storage a few minutes ago finally after i think like several years of clicking shut warnings about how i was out of space
i'm thankful for "
gaslight" by willow, the best pop rock song i've heard since "good 4 u", chunky shouty palm muted verses, such a great high weird major key chorus melody, that thing where lead guitar harmonizes with a vocal (that and the falsetto make me think a little of late period strokes like "one way trigger"), less than two minutes long (but you'll listen to it again).
