february (deborah)
i wept at the end of wuthering heights.
we sang karaoke on valentine’s day with the new speakers and mic that j got us for the studio
we aren’t working tomorrow
there was sunlight today
my orchid’s flowering stem dried out and i need to get new potting mix. i’ve been neglecting my plants but they are still hanging on. my monstera has several yellow leaves but i can see the outline of a new leaf within the youngest stem.
i am the furthest i’ve ever gotten with the sweater i’m knitting
i made risograph prints for the first time (they’re of miso)
kimchi fried rice with shiitake mushrooms and kale
heating pads during the winter
looking at down at my hand and realizing that my skin is flaking off where i burned myself last month, finally, this final shedding of the year of the wood snake
the year of the fire horse
feeling really proud of myself
while i stood in line at the grocery store, i watched a girl root around in a yakult endcap, frustrated that all the yakult 5-packs are tightly sealed together. she reached for a few singles and then realized that she could just rip the plastic open and grab a pack. satisfied, she left with her prize
buldak instant ramen virality has really gone overboard. j got a taco flavor
the green shoots from the mulch next to the porch and in our backyard. bluebells and tulips gathering energy.
