i'm thankful for nice strangers, like the older couple who offered to take us to the glaciers, and the woman who told us it was a holiday in reykjavik so most things would be closed, and the store employee in oslo who gave us great recommendations on where to eat and which bars to visit. i'm thankful for a salary that allows me to travel. i'm thankful for airbnb, which makes travel much less expensive—not to mention, more authentic. i'm thankful for sam, who's the best travel partner i've ever met. i'm thankful for the long conversations sam and i have over meals. i'm thankful for the delicious, quite fishy meals we've had this trip so far in oslo and reykjavik. i'm thankful for the fact that he doesn't smell despite unintentionally going three and a half days without showering. i'm thankful for you're the worst, which we just finished season 3 of, and which i think is one of the funniest, yet most poignant shows i've seen in a long time. i'm thankful for past, present, and future adventures. i'm thankful for fleece-lined leggings and fleece zip-ups, both currently making me feel quite cozy. i'm thankful for the scandinavian design aesthetic, which from what i've seen is epitomized by blonde wood, white paint, silver and chrome accents, and plants. i'm thankful for mornings, which always make me feel better.
