though we couldn't have miso stay at the house where my parents are cat sitting, we found a fantastic vet tech to watch miso and her last question, as we left the office dropping her off, was "is it okay if miso sleeps in the bed with me?" which was very endearing, and she sends us pictures of miso
the cats in the house where my parents are cat sitting, which are entertaining and remind me of miso, and also that doubling up my zyrtec has mostly helped me not feel too allergic to them
the house where my parents are cat sitting is beautiful, full of light, has a living room that is separate from the TV room (which is necessary for me to be able to escape the din), has great covered outdoor space, and has the fanciest shower i have ever used, which has 10 shower heads and almost as many controls for adjusting them
green mountain park, which is very close by where we're staying and which has some lovely trails where i did some trail running and took a long hike with d and my mom yesterday
delicious food my mom has made or purchased, including: carnitas, very good spicy roasted pepper salsa, mango fruit salad, a strawberry cake with a blueberry sauce, and sticky toffee pudding, thick dried coconut strips from trader joes
my dad's weed stash and getting to try dabbing for the first time
while watching 90 day fiancee: before the 90 days with my family, recognizing that one of the participants really looks like vicki's daughter from the early season of RHOOC and having that likeness confirmed by my mom, who watched that with me back in the day
this week's episode of the bachelorette finally had the scene i was waiting for for weeks, in which the bachelorette responds to being shamed by an evangelical psychotic by verbally eviscerating him, sending him home, and flipping off the car he's in as it takes him away, so great
this week's episode of
the handmaid's tale, which i don't know if it was successful, per se (
), but i personally loved how the editing and framing and colors and general mise en scene echoed
the passion of joan of arc and really doubled down, in the vein of that, on the things that elisabeth moss's face can do in extreme close-up, which never cease to amaze me
canceling tentative plans with a friend who lives here, even though i'm sure we would have had a good time, because i want to just commit fully to being lazy and not doing anything
not feeling guilty about going to bed early or otherwise taking time for myself while staying with my parents, which i used to try not to do but then i would get annoyed and bratty because of not having the space i need
that my parents love me (and deborah) and we love them
