i'm thankful that it is friday, which i think might be the best day of the week, since though i also of course love saturday and saturday is so pure and bountiful, saturday can still sometimes have a slight tinge of the beginning of the end of the weekend, it can go by faster than you expect and out of the corner of your mind's eye you know the next day is sunday and that you might get those sunday night blues or that sunday afternoon sense that all of what you wanted to get from the weekend you haven't yet gotten and the hours that are left for getting it you can count on your fingers, whereas with friday, even though there is a full day of work to do to get to it, that work is softened by what you can see in the distance at the end of the day, the sun of the week setting in the horizon, the sense of freedom and possibility, of time surrounding you
like a blanket endless and soft. i'm thankful it's friday.
