i'm thankful that when i turn on the bluetooth speaker, it immediately makes a sound that seems like a synthesized sunrise and then there is a pause, the length of which is never quite predictable, before it makes a second sound, a thunky chime, indicating that the speaker is connected to my phone, and i'm thankful that though there is always a moment where i am almost holding my breath during that pause, not sure if for some mysterious reason the bluetooth speaker won't connect to my phone and i will have to go through the terrible interminable bullshit you have to go through when a bluetooth device won't connect, that makes it all the sweeter when, as is usually the case, that second sound breaks the silence and lets me know that the connection has been made and i exhale and my song starts to play, in full volume.
