i'm thankful for this hilarious take on unboxing videos from youtube queen julia carusillo, creator of the legendary "my movie 1" and "my movie 2": my movie 3, my movie 4. i'm thankful for the depth and knowledge of genre underpinning the parody, but also for the atypical formal features she adds (the black and white cutaway interviews, the rollercoaster dips between irony and sincerity).

i'm thankful for pranks both "failed" and successful, as long as they come from a place of love. i'm thankful for how this lady pronounces "licorice."

i'm thankful for this wonderful deconstruction (off an EP of remixes, an embarrassment of riches) of my favorite song from last year's avalanche's album. i'm thankful for "love on top," which is a perfect videogame speed run, the key changes killscreen bonus rounds, the octave leaps new rounds in a boss fight. i'm thankful for "make me feel" by janelle monae, which i thought was musically a perfect postmodern homage, but might actually just be prince.
