i'm thankful that i got my first paycheck from my new job.
i'm thankful that the sunrise is shining through our front window right now, as i sit at our coffee table and miso licks out the remnants of my cereal and cereal milk from my bowl.
i'm thankful, even though there is a lot to learn, for how much less stress i feel about work now, which is so incredibly refreshing.
i'm thankful for the first episode of love is blind, which we watched last night (on netflix) and which is a pretty fascinating take on the reality dating show form (10 men and 10 women meet without ever seeing each other, make decisions about who they love based purely on conversations, and then get engaged to those people).
i'm thankful for nicholson baker's vox, a novel which takes the form of a transcript of two people who have called in to a 900 number sex talk hotline, which i haven't read in years (and so may have aged as badly as the fermata, a book i also loved then but find the idea of pretty fucked up now!) but used to really love for the tenderness and intimacy of it.
(i'm thankful for my other favorite transcript novel, which is manuel puig's kiss of the spiderwoman, a book which is still not available in electronic form, which is such a bummer!).
i'm thankful that i have been standing at my standing desk and though my legs are tired and i fall asleep more easily in the evening is good for me, i think.
i'm thankful to get to see my friends tonight.
