i'm thankful that at the start of the retreat last night for the technology company where i work, whose products live in an amorphous digital cloud and whose employees work remotely by sending encoded signals back and forth from a hundred different locations around the world, the favorite activity was standing around a fire pit, warming our hands and marveling at the power of the warmth and comfort that this oldest technology provided, as we talked under a fat bright moon.
