i’m thankful, even though the sound of them is annoying, for the thin stream/ of water i have dutifully summoned from each of the faucets in the house before bed, which will, for reasons i do not understand scientifically but do not have a particular need to or interest in understanding scientifically and am content to instead take on a kind of secular faith, protect our pipes from freezing when it is -10° tonight. i’m thankful for running water.
