12/7/17

i'm thankful that though i did not feel well yesterday morning, i have a job that is understanding and flexible and i went back to bed for the rest of the morning and then came back in the afternoon feeling much better.

i'm thankful that in the afternoon, i automated a very annoying manual process for my team and though there were some small bumps setting it up, i think it will save us all a lot of hassle and people appreciated the effort.

i'm thankful for the hypnotic magic of optical sorting machines.

i'm thankful for this very sad but also very interesting article about the lives and deaths of old people in japan. i'm thankful for the image of hideo kojima and norman reedus eating cup noodles together.

i'm thankful for the return my favorite live performance of a christmas song, which is patti labelle vamping valiantly over "this christmas," a song she doesn't know. i'm thankful for examples of people charging forward in impossible situations. i'm thankful for my backup singers.

i'm thankful for the new miguel album, which people have not been talking about enough. i'm thankful that he takes the sonic experimentation of wildheart and weds it with bigger, richer, sweeter pop songs. i'm thankful to have read about how he set out to make music that could function as an oasis in a world that's so horrible all the time, how he "wants [his] music to be a place for my audience to go and be able to feel good.”

i'm thankful for these gingerbread cookies that accidentally look like they have jizz on them (bukkookies?)(sorry). i'm thankful for this wild edit of ac/dc's "thunderstruck" where every time they say thunder the song speeds up 5%.

i'm thankful for this burn. i'm thankful for this amazing nathan for you style story about a person turning his shed into a number one rated restaurant on tripadvisor.

i'm thankful for this picture of a dog wearing a sweater. i'm thankful there are other paths to warmth.
