i'm thankful that d put up our little artificial christmas tree in our front window yesterday afternoon and that when i walked down the dark hallway to the kitchen to get our breakfast this morning, i emerged into the living room and was greeted by the tree there, the glow of the colored lights blooming, the gleam of the ornaments. i'm thankful for the song i wrote one winter when d was visiting her family for christmas and my only company was the tree and i felt sad. i'm thankful that we will be together this christmas.
