i'm thankful that d wrote a new subscriber-only letter about the pleasure of washing dishes and nicole byer and to recommend that if you read these notes, you should definitely read hers because she is the best:

i'm thankful for this unbelievably thorough apple review blog:
http://adamapples.blogspot.com. i'm thankful to still come across a blog every now and then and to remember how important reading and writing blogs was to my life for so long. i'm thankful to know that in many ways, the slack where i write at work and the threads where i write at play and these notes where i write every morning are like blogs, they're not the same and i feel nostalgia for the old word container.
i'm thankful for the sensation where you're expecting something to be mildly disappointing and then it surprises you by being excellent, since after last week's striking film essay poem of an episode of watchmen, i thought the show had nowhere to go but (relatively) down, and i was okay with that, but then the episode was somehow even more of exactly what i wanted (i'm thankful for e's description of it as "like Lost but if the amount of exposition from two of the middle seasons of Lost were compressed into one hour of TV", which perfectly describes why i loved it so much and why you might also not). i'm thankful that jeff jensen, who wrote the crazy encyclopedic entertainment weekly blog posts about lost as it aired that were a kind of bible to me when i was watching it is one of the writers on the show.
i'm thankful also for the anachronistic emily dickinson bio-comedy
dickinson on the new apple tv network, which is tender and lovely and should be getting more attention than it has. i'm thankful for jane krakowski in fine form as emily's mother and also in the second episode for two musical montages, one set to lizzo's
"boys" in which emily and her best friend dress up in men's clothes to sneak into a lecture about volcanoes at amherst, and also a concluding sex scene set to mitski (!) and overlaid with the lines of emily dickinson's poem about volcanoes (

i'm thankful for the islands song "volcanoes," which has one of my favorite breakdowns/builds up in a song (

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2pB0NAu9eM) which i can remember very vividly watching and rewatching in my bedroom my senior year of college. i'm thankful that yesterday was an OK day at work and today will probably be OK too. i'm thankful, even though i have gotten a little bored with
the mandalorian, for baby yoda, who truly is a gift (
