i'm thankful that i deleted twitter off of my phone yesterday evening because now on election nights i just feel queasy and terrified and reading the chatter does not help with that. i'm thankful to have woken up to celebrations that doug jones won his senate race, even though the tiny margin by which he won over a racist misogynistic child molester is disturbing and the election provides further evidence of what trash white people are. i'm still thankful for this win and the smaller majority it means for republicans in the senate and for anything which provides hope that there is at least a chance the future will not be as terrible as the present is. i'm thankful for elana kagan. i'm thankful for these images of a field of wheat an artist once grew near the world trade center.
